September 14, 2021 – Coloso, a CIC (Company-in-Company) under Day1Company (formerly FastCampus, CEO Kangmin Lee), announced today that it achieved ₩10 billion in sales last year, reflecting a 300% increase compared to 2019.

Since its launch, Coloso has amassed approximately 130,000 total members and 4.5 million cumulative visitors. In Q2 of this year, visitor traffic tripled compared to the same period last year.

Coloso, launched in 2019, is an education platform designed for freelancers and small business owners. Kim Dong-hyuk, CEO of Coloso CIC, explained that sectors like hairdressing, cooking, baking, and comics/webtoons often rely on a traditional apprenticeship model, where learners are mentored directly by industry veterans. This results in information gaps among professionals. Coloso addresses this by bringing together recognized experts to share their knowledge through online education content.

Popular instructors across various categories include industry leaders like L, Choi Jin, and Kiu in hairdressing; Seok Jung-hyun, Kim Rak-hee, and Mo-Gun in illustration; and baking specialists such as popular YouTuber J’adore (with 520,000 subscribers), Jaein (Chef-owner of JAEIN, a sold-out hotspot in Yeonhui-dong), and Jeong Ha-yeon, author of Cake Diary by Kong Mom. In video design, standout instructors include Pixar artist Shaun Kim, Super Very More CEO Kim Young-min, and Emmy Award-nominated Kang Woo-sung.

The average age of Coloso students ranges from their 20s to early 30s. When asked about their reasons for enrolling, responses included, “I can learn from top experts in the industry,” “I can revisit the content as often as needed without time limits,” and “I can easily grasp the latest trends, techniques, and tools in the industry.”

One culinary course participant shared, “Due to COVID-19, my shop’s revenue dropped by around 50%, but after taking the course, not only did sales recover, they increased by 3-4 times,” expressing satisfaction with the content.

Kim noted, “Within just three months of launching, we achieved ₩1 billion in sales, highlighting how eager small business owners are for educational opportunities. It’s essential to provide not only specialized professionals but also small business operators with access to professional education.”

Coloso plans to expand its offerings by introducing new categories this year, including tech, creativity, and entrepreneurship/investment.
