FastCampus Selects Actress Jung Ryeo-won as the New Face of ‘MyLight’ Language Learning Series

December 1, 2020 — FastCampus, a leading South Korean adult education startup (CEO Kangmin Lee), announced today that actress Jung Ryeo-won has been chosen as the new brand ambassador for MyLight, their popular foreign language learning series.

The campaign slogan, “One Workbook a Week Makes Learning Languages Easy—MyLight,” emphasizes the brand’s philosophy of helping adults form easy and consistent language learning habits. This approach counters the common struggle of trying to self-study with thick textbooks and large amounts of content, often leading to frustration and failure.

Jung Ryeo-won, the newly appointed brand model, gained attention on MBC’s show I Live Alone, where she showcased her exceptional fashion sense and unpretentious lifestyle, making her a role model for many women in their 20s and 30s, who are the core demographic of MyLight. Not only is she an actual user of MyLight, but she is also proficient in English and has a strong interest in learning other languages, which makes her an authentic and relatable spokesperson for the brand.

Jung expressed her excitement, stating, “I was already using MyLight to study when I received the offer to be the brand model, and I felt it was a meaningful coincidence. I had been hesitant to take on language learning due to my busy schedule, but with MyLight, I found the courage to start learning French one workbook at a time.”

Tina Tsu, CEO of FastCampus Language, commented, “MyLight aims to improve practical language skills by covering all aspects—grammar, pronunciation, speaking, and writing. We plan to launch additional languages by the end of the year, continuing the strong response from our customers.”

The MyLight series currently offers English, Japanese, Chinese, Spanish, French, Italian, and German, structured with a workbook-per-week approach for ease and consistency. The curriculum includes online video lessons with native speakers to supplement harder-to-master skills like pronunciation and speaking, ensuring comprehensive coverage of all language learning aspects.
