FastCampus Expands into Book Publishing, Broadening Its Business Scope

January 17, 2022 – FastCampus, a Corporate-Incubated Company (CIC) under Day1 Company, announced that it is venturing into the book publishing industry with the release of Introduction to Frontend Development, its first publication set to be released on February 17.
FastCampus CIC oversees online job skill training and B2B corporate education under Day1 Company. To date, it has provided over 7,300 pieces of content to 480,000 learners across fields such as programming, data science, digital marketing, creative, and investing.
Building on its role as a guide for countless professionals through its high-quality online courses, FastCampus aims to further expand its reach by publishing educational books. The company sees books and video lectures as complementary tools that share a common goal of transforming lives through education. FastCampus also plans to offer both books and courses together, creating a more efficient learning environment for students.
The first release, Hello IT: Starting Frontend Development, is the debut volume of the “HIT Series.” The series title, “HIT,” stands for “Hello IT,” reflecting the intention of providing beginners with clear, accurate knowledge as they enter the world of IT.
Hello IT: Starting Frontend Development is divided into two parts: an introductory volume, which will be released in January, and an advanced volume scheduled for release in March. The introductory book covers three key areas: HTML/CSS/JS basics, version control with Git, and clone coding. Unlike other beginner books that only focus on one or two topics, this book comprehensively addresses the skills needed by web frontend beginners. The advanced volume will provide more in-depth content, making it suitable for junior developers and those seeking to switch careers.
The book is based on FastCampus’ popular online course Ultimate Frontend Development Package, taught by Jilings’ Managing Director, Youngwoong Park, who also authored the book. The course, which spans 100 hours, covers everything from basic syntax to cutting-edge technologies. It has received positive feedback from both non-technical learners and junior developers for its structured curriculum.
FastCampus plans to continue publishing books that synergize with its online courses. Upcoming releases in the “HIT Series” include Hello IT: Starting Python and Excel for Professionals, designed to help working professionals improve their Excel skills.
Shin Haedong, CEO of FastCampus CIC, stated, “While our focus is currently on adult-targeted online education, FastCampus’ ultimate vision is to change lives through education. By expanding into the book publishing sector, we not only hope to showcase the quality of our educational content but also continue exploring new ways to empower people and become a life accelerator.”
Hello IT: Starting Frontend Development will be available for pre-order on Yes24 starting February 10, with offline purchases available from February 17.
