Day1 Company Records KRW 99.5 Billion in Transactions for 2021
– Transaction volume nearly doubled compared to KRW 53 billion in 2020, reaching an all-time monthly high of KRW 12.5 billion in December
– Strong growth driven by tech, creative, and language education sectors
– B2B corporate education service saw significant expansion, with contract volume surpassing KRW 13 billion—three times more than the previous year
January 6, 2022 – Day1 Company, a leading adult education content startup, announced today that it recorded KRW 99.5 billion in transactions in 2021, marking a nearly 1.9x increase from the KRW 53 billion in 2020.
The ongoing shift to remote living due to COVID-19, coupled with the fading concept of “lifetime employment,” has led to a sustained boom in adult education. Riding this trend, Day1 Company not only achieved KRW 99.5 billion in annual transactions in 2021 but also set a new monthly record of KRW 12.5 billion in December, as demand surged from individuals eager to invest in self-development and career transitions at the start of the new year.
Founded in 2013 with a focus on entrepreneurship education, Day1 Company has grown into a comprehensive content provider specializing in adult education. The company has more than doubled its performance each year, increasing its annual revenue from KRW 26 billion in 2019 to KRW 42 billion in 2020. As its various business units flourished, the company rebranded from “FastCampus” to “Day1 Company” in 2021 and elevated four major divisions to Corporate-Incubated Companies (CICs).
Day1 Company’s CICs include FastCampus, which focuses on online job skills training and B2B corporate education; Lemonade, specializing in language education; Coloso, which offers education for freelancers and self-employed professionals; and Snowball, which provides employment-focused training for developers.
The rapid growth in 2021 was attributed to the steady rise of the self-development trend across all sectors that Day1 Company’s CICs focus on, particularly in tech, creative, and language education. One of the highlights last year was Snowball CIC’s “Na-Ka-La-Cu-Bae” developer training program, which gained significant attention. Meanwhile, Coloso, which provides creative education content, successfully entered the Japanese market in November, and Lemonade CIC’s language learning brand, Light Workbook, achieved KRW 14 billion in revenue in the first half of 2021 alone.
The B2B corporate education segment also experienced remarkable growth. As digital transformation swept across industries, companies increasingly sought professional education providers to enhance the digital capabilities of their employees. FastCampus CIC’s corporate training division reported KRW 13 billion in contracts signed in 2021, marking a threefold increase compared to 2020.
Kangmin Lee, CEO of Day1 Company, stated, “Over the past eight years, we have worked tirelessly to grow the market and expand education opportunities as the only comprehensive adult education content provider in the industry. Moving forward, we will continue to offer diverse, trend-leading content and strive to become a ‘life accelerator’ that helps transform the lives of individuals through education.”
