November 30, 2021 – Day1 Company, a leading adult education content provider in South Korea, has announced the expansion and relocation of its headquarters to Centerfield in Yeoksam, marking a new phase of growth for the company.
Kangmin Lee, CEO of Day1 Company, reflected on the company’s journey, stating, “It’s a proud moment to see our company, which started in a basement, now growing to 430 employees, all working together in the same space. We hope this new environment will foster active communication and help us discover new growth opportunities.”
Founded in 2013 with just four employees, Day1 Company has seen remarkable growth, becoming a key player in the adult education market. The rise of self-development, accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic, has significantly boosted the company’s workforce from 96 employees in 2019 to 275 in 2020, and now to 430 in 2021.
In August, to maintain agility and swift execution amidst rapid growth, Day1 Company adopted the Company in Company (CIC) structure. Following this organizational restructuring, the company has taken another step forward by relocating to a new headquarters, ushering in its “second act.”
The new headquarters at Centerfield is located near Yeoksam and Seolleung stations, a prime location in Gangnam. Completed earlier this year, Centerfield is known for its state-of-the-art facilities and comfortable work environment. Other tenants include major companies like Krafton, Facebook, and Amazon.
By bringing together employees who were previously spread across the Gangnam and Seongsu areas, Day1 Company aims to enhance operational efficiency and establish a strong foundation for future growth. The new office will house the company’s business teams and employees from its four CICs: FastCampus, Lemonade, Coloso, and Snowball, totaling 430 staff members.
The design of the new office prioritizes open communication and innovation, values that Day1 Company holds central. The space features open-plan offices and spacious lounge areas to encourage casual interactions, as well as 26 meeting rooms of various sizes. Additionally, the new office includes separate workspaces for individual focus and rooms that facilitate spontaneous discussions.
The meeting rooms are named after historical figures who shattered conventional thinking and led groundbreaking innovations, such as Alan Turing, the father of computer science, and Ada Lovelace, the world’s first programmer. This reflects Day1 Company’s commitment to challenging norms and driving innovation.
Kangmin Lee commented, “We wanted to create an environment where the talented team members who have contributed to Day1 Company’s rapid growth can enjoy communicating and focus on their work. This new space will support our continued growth and help us achieve our vision of ‘Life-changing Education.’”
Founded as FastCampus in 2013, Day1 Company has grown at an average rate of twofold annually, achieving KRW 42 billion in sales in 2020. With the organizational restructuring and new headquarters, the company is set to accelerate its growth even further in 2021.
