– Redesign of learning content with adjusted difficulty and volume, focusing on habit formation
– New subscription-based “Habit Delivery” service, delivering monthly study materials to reinforce learning consistency
– Upcoming editions inspired by the “Miracle Morning” trend and personalized 1:1 native speaker lessons
November 26, 2021 – Lemonade CIC, the division of Day1 Company responsible for language education, has announced the grand relaunch of MyLight, its foreign language learning tool for adults. The relaunch introduces a new learning method and subscription delivery service to help users develop consistent learning habits.
Tina Tsu, CEO of Lemonade CIC, stated, “The revamped content focuses on ‘steady concentration,’ designed to help learners turn foreign language study into a habit through a more structured approach.”
Tsu referenced Dr. Phillippa Lally’s research from University College London (UCL), explaining, “On average, it takes about 66 days, or 10 weeks, to form a habit.” She added that the revised MyLight study material is designed with relatively easier content for the first 12 weeks to boost learners’ sense of accomplishment. A review system has also been implemented where users revisit the study material through online lessons within a week to convert short-term memory into long-term retention.
As part of the relaunch, two new study packages are introduced, catering to various lifestyles. The “Miracle Morning Package” includes a three-month study guide and a coffee drip bag, designed to encourage morning study routines. Lemonade CIC will also host an SNS challenge to support habit formation, offering additional gifts to participants. The “Care Package” integrates 1:1 live lessons with native speakers, allowing users to practice their language skills in real-time and improve their proficiency.
In an industry first, MyLight is introducing the “Habit Delivery” service, a subscription model that delivers four weeks of study materials once a month. This system aims to refresh learners’ motivation and provide consistent encouragement. For those who prefer to receive all materials at once, the “Smart Delivery” option remains available.
To celebrate the grand relaunch, MyLight will provide buyers of English, Chinese, Japanese, Spanish, and French study packages with a range of habit-forming study tools, including a weekly planner, study planner, progress chart and stickers, book holder, and vocabulary book.
Tina Tsu remarked, “It typically takes three to five years for adults to master a new language, and we are introducing various methods to ensure they don’t give up on this long journey. We are committed to providing the best learning experience and customer satisfaction, supported by significant investment and innovation.”
Since its launch in 2018, MyLight has achieved an annual growth rate of 600%, generating KRW 14 billion in sales in the first half of this year alone. The service provides study materials in 11 languages, developed by language experts and professional educators, and now boasts over 270,000 members, establishing itself as a leading foreign language learning tool.
